I discovered deck poles at Wild Birds Unlimited! These are so easy to use – we did have to do some careful positioning to minimize wind exposure, but as you can see from the pictures, one fits exactly in front of our bay window – maximizing bird-watching all year long.
We also discovered a chipmunk in a feeder that we left out to pursue other chores before hanging it back up. This industrious little fellow was quite happy to run away free when we asked for our birdseed back. 😉
Last summer we fed hummingbirds, orioles, chickadees, nuthatches, jays, woodpeckers, finches galore and many more – I now have a field guide in the living room to help identify them when we see a new one.
